Building Systems for Positive Support in Schools: Getting Started
This afternoon of professional development is open to anyone not attending the RTLB Conference.
Taranaki RTLB are delighted to bring you the opportunity to spend an afternoon with Anne Todd, one of the co-founders of the 'School Wide Positive Behaviour and Intervention Supports' (PBIS), an internationally research-validated approach for creating and maintaining safe and effective learning environments.
Specific areas Anne will cover in this workshop:
- Using the Team Implementation Checklist (TIC) as a planning tool to get started on a school-wide behaviour programme.
- Using data based decision making for building systems for positive behaviour support (SWIS)
- Highlighting a systen for encouraging, teaching and maintaining behaviour expectations.
- Evidence based practices to increase academic performance and decrease problem behaviour.

About Anne W Todd
Ms. Anne Todd, is a Senior Research Assistant at the University of Oregon, US. Her experiences include development of school wide programs that are team-based, data-based, and focused on systems change and sustainability. Anne's work has contributed to the development of behaviour support tools being used across the world including the School Wide Information System (swis.org), the School wide Evaluation Tool (SET), Team Implementation Checklist (TIC), and Functional Behaviour Analysis (FBA).
