E nga iwi, e nga reo, e nga karangatanga maha o nga hau e wha, tenei te mihi atu ki a koutou katoa.
Te Matarau will achieve its mission "kimihia te huarahi kia ora ai te iwi" by working with and supporting MDOs to work with Maori communities to achieve Maori health improvements including reduced fragmentation and promotion of better understanding of national and regional Maori health issues.
Te Matarau's strategic themes are:
- Ko te kai a te rangatira he kōrero (communication, profile, advise and respond)
- Ko te tohu a te rangatira he manaaki (advocate on behalf of a strong united membership)
- Ko te mahi a te rangatira he whakatira i tona iwi (strategic leadership and direction)
- Ma te huru ka rere te manu (generating revenue, sustainability and positioning towards the achievement of significant culture and business outcomes)
With this in mind the 2010 conference theme is "Working Together - the time is now". The purpose of the conference is to bring together NGOs from across the sectors to discuss ways we can work together under a Whānau Ora kaupapa.
The conference aims to showcase a number of pathways in which traditional/indigenous wellness services can be integrated into current western health and social service models of delivery.
The programme will bring together international and national speakers and seek their input and discussion on Whanau Ora how NGOs and government can work together to enhance services to whanau.
The conference intends to create a forum where innovative ideas are shared amongst providers from a variety of sectors around Aotearoa. We invite you to join us!
No reira, he mihi nui ki a koutou katoa nga topito o te motu, o te ao. Nau mai, haere mai ki Whanganui.
